With the introduction of integrated schools in the 1950s, there was hope that segregation in public schools would come to an end. However, today, there is resegregation in public schools. This paper explores resegregation in modern public schools.
The white students question the lesson content and the credibility of the black American teachers(Nathan, 2013). They accuse their Black teachers of reverse racism, and the administration acts in favor of the students, an indicator that teachers are supposed to teach what is appealing to whites (Nathan, 2013). Also, despite their degrees and qualification, the black teachers have to prove their credibility to the white students who assess their teaching before they get a pass, and the system supports it.
